Trolleybuses served the London Passenger Transport Area from 1931 until 1962. For much of its existence, the London system was the largest in the world. It peaked at 68 routes, with a maximum fleet of 1,811 trolleybuses. They were nicknamed "Diddlers" and commenced running on 16 May 1931.

My biggest gripe about it is the lack of tube stations! Ir was the east London of its day with families and young people moving into Brixton, Peckham and Tulse Hill and prices rose to suit.
He lives south of London. In the picture below, notice the important difference between "in the south" and "to the south" or just "south": Here are some more examples: Paris is in the north of France. Sweden is north of France. Belgium is to the north of France.

The two trolleybuses in this picture are the only vehicles to be seen at what was and is, a very busy location - maybe it's a Sunday. The 609 has come from Barnet, via North Finchley and Archway and would have been joined by the 679 at Nag's Head, Holloway. This had been tried out in Bradford and London before being displayed at the Commercial Motor Transport Exhibition in 1931. In 1933, Shoeburyness, located to the east of Southend, became part of the Borough, and there were proposals to extend the trolleybus network along the seafront from the Kursaal to Thorpe Bay and on to Shoeburyness.

In this part some of the oldest British settlements and traces of ancient monuments such as Stonehenge are found. It produces milk, cream, butter, cheese. In the villages people grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. The southeast of England, too, has many towns and cities, including London.
