ARE ARE
Triumph VIII is the eighth of a series of books on the Pennsylvania Railroad written by the late Charles Roberts. Roberts has developed a unique approach to railroad history. He blends real history with a mile by mile analysis of specific sections of a railroad. In addition, he throws in his own opinions as to key management decisions, and his comments are often controversial. The subject of Triumph VIII is Pittsburgh plus the low grade "Kiski" and lines to the south of Pittsburgh. This is not a book to be read in one night. It is crammed with information and has to be treated with respect. There are hundreds of photos, maps, and diagrams. When you finish you will learn more than you ever thought possible about the Pittsburgh region and the Pennsylvania Railroad. A must for every Pennsy fan.

Tons of information about railroading in the Pittsburgh area. Good pictures and descriptions of the area. Opinions of Mr. Roberts are included.

Different author from the previous series with lots of unneccessary personal life interspersed. Maps were impossible to read and text references for places impossilbe to follow. It would have been better to indicate place names with numbers superimposed on the maps.
