As a kid I loved have this most interesting book read to me. I loved looking at all the different people and all their activities. It hasn't been updated since it's original publication, so there are still a few noticeable gender and racial stereotypical job portrayals. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.) However, for a book from the late 60's/early 70's it was quite progressive in that included non-Caucasians on many of the pages, which many books at the time did not even consider.

Still a great read!

This book is in better condition that I had as a child. There was a name written in the front cover, but besides that you would never know that the book had been used. I still get a kick out of all of the amazing details in the pictures on each page. So happy to have a copy for the next generation of kids that grow up in our family!!

My childhood copy did not survive. The amazon premium for busy day busy people, which appears to be out of print, was worthwhile for me and my sons.

My daughter loved this book as a child and we purchased it for her little girl who is two and a half. She loves it also and we are enjoying reading it over and over again 30 year later. Definitely recommend it. Kids just love it and it is also educational.

This is awesome it was a book I remember from my childhood. once I saw the illustrations it all came back to me.
My daughter's favorite when she was little -- the pictures have lots of activity and detail, fun to look at for a long time. Not really a story, just glimpses of various city occupations. Evokes a lot of language as child tells what's happening in pictures.
