The Hive and the Honey-Bee by Lorenzo Langstroth . First published in 1853. In the absence of the keeper, as I informed you, I took the liberty to explore the premises thoroughly, opening and inspecting a number of the hives, and noticing the internal arrangement of the parts. Very interesting book about bees and bee keepers. The author really gives you an insightful and detailed information regarding just about all aspects of bee behavior and bee hives. My only criticism about the book is the aithor may be giving too much information regarding the raising bees and maintaining bee hives. Bees are very interesting creatures that we have been given to take care of and watch over. The Bees importance can not be understated.
