HOLODNY is Professor of Radiology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Attending Neuroradiologist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York, USA. He is the Chief of the Neuroradiology Section and Director of the Functional MRI Laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Dr. Holodny is the Founding President of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology and past-President of the Eastern Neuroradiological Society.

The first text designed specifically with clinical practitioners in mind, Functional Neuroimaging demonstrates the clinical application and utilization of functional neuroradiology for early diagnosis, neurological decision-making, and assessing response to cancer therapy.

Functional Neuroimaging: A Clinical Approach. As the specialty of radiology moves from strictly anatomic-based imaging and toward physiologic, biochemical, and quantitative determinations, the studies that can be used to derive this information should be recognized by all radiologists. Nowhere has the incorporation of such information been more striking than in functional imaging of the central nervous system.

Functional Neuroimaging demonstrates the clinical application and utilization of functional neuroradiology for early diagnosis, neurological decision-making, and assessing response to cancer therapy and helps clinicians incorporate this technology into clinical practice. Functional Neuroimaging includes: Helps clinicians incorporate functional neuroradiology into their practice. Contains 320 intricate, full-color figures comprising the anatomy and function of the brain.

Clinical molecular imaging and emerging neuroimaging applications

Clinical molecular imaging and emerging neuroimaging applications. Pharmaceutical Agents for Molecular Imaging. In Vivo Tracking of Stem Cells in the CNS (MR, Optical).

The first text designed specifically with clinical practitioners in mind, Functional Neuroimaging demonstrates the clinical application and utilization of functional neuroradiology for early diagnosis, neurological decision-making, and assessing response to cancer therapy. Edited by the Founding President of American Society of Functional Neuroradiology, this guide expertly describes the incorporation of this technology into clinical practice and showcases high-quality color images depicting the function and mechanisms of the brain.

Features:

Helps clinicians incorporate functional neuroradiology into their practice Shows new advancements in functional brain imaging to benefit the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients Depicts current methods for imaging the central nervous system, as well as cutting-edge approaches for the imaging of brain function Contains 320 intricate, full-color figures comprising the anatomy and function of the brain

Neuroradiologists, radiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and clinical psychologists will find this an essential guide to enhance the quality of their practice.

I bought the kindle edition to read on my iPad. Getting through the first chapter I was having trouble understanding the figures..then it occurred to me...no color. The legends clearly describe color in the figures to show the functional overlays on the anatomic images, as well as to differentiate among data on graphs etc... While the text itself was clear (a few typos noted in the first few pages, though), I returned the kindle edition for a refund. What use is a digital edition if it renders the figures uninterpretable? **** for the clear explanations, but * for the useless grayscale figures.

The book is really good from a clinician's perspective. Well written, easy to follow, useful. Would have liked to see more case examples and perhaps an appendix of paradigms. Overall, great book.

Good, short introduction for the radiologist/tech that is going to be involved with clinical functional MRI. The fMRI chapters total less than 160 pages.

If you are looking for a comprehensive text, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a quick introduction to clinical fMRI, then great book.
