Draws the bulk of concepts and ideas from outdated data (1950s-1980s). It's difficult to believe that the field of medical sociology is so popular and growing, as the author states, and yet there is a serious lack of recent research. Disappointed that the book did not engage the reader as much as it could have - it was a very dry read.

If you are considering taking a class that uses this book, don't. I love reading. I can read almost anything and enjoy it, even text books. There are some excellent text books out there. This one is just plain boring. It's completely dry, like reading a fact sheet.

Learned so much from this book. If your professor uses this book you’ll definitely enjoy your reading.

This is a wonderful book. However... Make sure you have up to date glasses if you need them. The print is smaller, and not very bold. If your eyes are not where they should be, read this in the DAYTIME! I only need it for a 7 week Med Soc class, and back it goes.

Good condition! Everything was intact. There was a coffee stain along the edge, but other than that I am happy.

Arrived as described. The class required the 13th edition, which was over $100, but this version worked out just fine and I got an A in the class.

I rented this book and was shocked to see it was brand new still in it's original plastic wrapping
Text books met expectations. Text itself was easy and comprehensible. Thank you seller and Amazon!
