When you have missed class and need as many problems as possible to narrow your perspective to what is relevant, then this book is invaluable (unless you were to calculate and scale all of the time, money, and pain in retaking the course; in which case it is merely valuable).

In many other cases where the material is not fully understood, and you're frightened of asking yet another question proving your immoderate ignorance, much can be learned from attacking problems with groups of similarly ignorant students (nearly 100% of those covering it for the first time).

Buying this used makes it SO Much less expensive...unable to get guides for all chapters, but great for a motivated student that is willing to do some summer work or a home schooled child
