Carl Froch took up boxing at the age of nine, and turned pro in 2002 after winning two amateur titles. He competed against five of the greatest middleweight boxers in the world in Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic, and came in second when he was defeated by Andre Ward in the final of the tournament in December 2011, in Atlantic City.

Carl Froch's revealing story from inside the high-stakes world of boxing pulls no punches, from his lost years through to his ascent to World Champion. He is currently a contender for the title in the innovative new Super Six Boxing Classic, which pits the best six fighters in the world against each other in a round-robin tournament.

Carl Froch grew up on a tough Nottingham housing estate  . Honest, outspoken, and every inch the boy from Nottingham, Carl pulls no punches in his revealing story from inside the high-stakes world of boxing, from his first discovery of his talent to his ascent to World Champion.

Carl Froch's new book "The Cobra: My Story" details his career, but is light on real impact. Carl Froch fights this weekend against Glen Johnson in the semifinals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, and recently I had the chance to read his book, "The Cobra: My Story," co-written with Niall Hickman

He held multiple super-middleweight world championships, including the WBC title twice between 2008 and 2011, the IBF title from 2012 to 2015, and the WBA (Unified) title from 2013 to 2015. At regional level he held the British, Commonwealth, and English super-middleweight titles, and won the Lonsdale Belt in 2006

Carl Froch, known as "the Cobra," was brought up tough on a Nottingham housing estate. He started boxing at just nine years old, but as a teenager he gave it up and his life became an aimless round of dead end jobs and pub fights. However, his family wouldn’t let him waste his life—they knew that what he needed was to get back in the ring. Luckily they succeeded, and Carl has never looked back. Carl Froch is now Britain’s world champion at super-middleweight with having won 26 fights (with 20 KOs). His greatest fights have already gone down in boxing history, culminating in his defeat of the American Jermain Taylor in defense of WBC title in April in 2009 and the boxing masterclass delivered against Arthur Abraham at the end of 2010. Knocked down for the first time in his career by Taylor, he was behind on everyone’s scorecard but his own, until, with just 14 seconds of the fight to go, he came back in spectacular fashion with a stunning knock out. Carl Froch’s revealing story from inside the high-stakes world of boxing pulls no punches, from his lost years through to his ascent to World Champion. He is currently a contender for the title in the innovative new Super Six Boxing Classic, which pits the best six fighters in the world against each other in a round-robin tournament. With two wins and a close but disappointing loss to Mikkel Kessler, The Cobra follows Carl every step of the way as he prepares for the fight of his life—the most anticipated showdown of the tournament against Glen Johnson in May. Massive and unmissable, this fight will take Carl to a new high.
