Bristol, Buffalo, Toronto. Some of our thinking then involved cultural routes, and one of the book’s main case studies highlighted a heritage trail. But the genesis of our interest in trails, routes, byways, footpaths and other linear corridors predates that book back to the time when we were both graduate students in geography at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
