Richard Swedberg is Professor of Sociology at Stockholm University where he has been since 1986. During his career he has been a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Sociology, Harvard University (1987/88), the Russell Sage Foundation (1990/91), the Russell Sage Foundation in New York (Summer 1993), and the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University (summers of 1995, 1996, and 1997).
