In terms of the subject matter, this is a good introductory text. My main complaint is that it is focused so much on manufacturing. That's only a small fraction of GDP, and it felt like it didn't really apply to me. I say this as the book was a required text in my MBA class on operations management. We also read Goldratt's "The Goal," itself a weird textbook / novel hybrid.

The thing is that I think is lacking is that operations are important for service-related industries, but they get scant attention here. You have to take the lessons of the book and extrapolate the conclusions to your own organization if it is not a manufacturing one (or what you think you will do, if you have not ventured to the real world. Overall, it is detailed and a strong introduction, but it is just a bit too focused for what I wanted.
Very well written (9th. ed.); easy to read and understand. Many interesting and relevant case studies provided. Each chapter contains several completed and fully explained sample problem exercises. No solutions are provided for the end of chapter problem sets (a few would have been nice) but you don't really need solutions because the in chapter examples are so thorough and walk you through each step/equation/ etc. Also, free online publishers website content contains the OM tutorial and solver (easy to download and very useful) and Excel templates. So far, this is the best of my MBA required textbooks (it's a keeper).

I found the layout and examples in the book to be very helpful. The coverage overall was comprehensive and the problems and case studies at the end of each chapter were sometimes challenging but doable. Certainly more detailed information can be found on the subjects covered but overall it gave a cohesive look at the subject

Great content, organization and presentation. The books as quite a good amount of case studies which helps to strengthen the understanding.

Book's content is great and is very useful. I am using it as part of my MBA and it is an excellent source of information. Unfortunately, I found an issue on problem 16 on chapter 13. The third part of this problem is incomplete and (Murphy's rule!) it is the one I had to do as homework. Another problem is the lack of pages as reference. My professor refers to me to a certain page but the book is referenced by "location". In general terms, it has great content but the Kindle version can be improved.
This textbook is a very complete treatment of the subject, and its much cheaper than purchasing thru the college bookstore. My only complaint is that the book is printed on very thin paper, and in a smaller font than most textbooks, making it visually challenging to read. It presents a clear and comprehensive overview of the topic without being too complicated for biz students. The initial chapter is fairly pedantic, but it becomes more interesting after that.
