Description

This book surpassed my expectations.

This book surpassed my expectations. I've always loved Ken Done's work, and this is a good representation of some of his works up into the early 90s; not only paintings but textile designs, murals, and some of his other ventures. I hope there is a sequel to this book, as Ken Done is so prolific and is always trying new things. I wish I could see everything he ever painted.

Anne-Marie Van de Ven, Machi Tawara, Richard Wood. Ken Done's art and design, with its brilliantly coloured images, has become familiar the world over as uniquely and distinctively Australian. This beautifully illustrated book features essays by curators from the Powerhouse Museum and Done Art and Design who look at the origins of and inspirations for Ken Done's work from his art-school days in the 1950s through his years in advertising to his work now as an artist and designer. Leading figures in Japanese business and publishing discuss the phenomenal success of Ken Done in Japan.

Anna Maria van Schurman (November 5, 1607 – May 4, 1678) was a Dutch painter, engraver, poet, and scholar, who is best known for her exceptional learning and her defence of female education. She was also the first to study at a Dutch university.
