Produced by Mike Portnoy & John Petrucci. So many years have passed Since I proclaimed My independence My mission My aim And my vision So secure Content to live each day like it's my last It's wonderful to know That I could be Something more than what I dreamed Far beyond what I could see Still I swear that I'm Missing out this time. As far as I could tell There's nothing more I need But still I ask myself Could this be everything?

The album is also known for its title track, which is considered by many to be Dream Theater's best song. Also, is the only album from Dream Theater with hidden tracks in the pregap of the tracks.

The tabs are great. Fingerings make sense. A no brainer if you want to get some insight to the writing of John and the boys.

...which I would say is the primary mesure of quality for sheet music. I haven't noticed any glaring errors, but to be honest, I haven't looked at a couple of the songs yet. The biggies (Root Of All Evil, Octivarium, These Walls, Panic Attack, Never Enough, Sacrified Sons) all seem spot-on.

While I'm not a huge fan of tablature (I prefer standard notation) the fingerings provided seemed logical and natural.

I generally buy these types of books to better understand the scales and positions that the guitarists play, knowing that they are not always 100% accurate. Dream Theater works very closely with their tab makers, so I am willing to believe that this book's accuracy is solid. Overall, the note-for-note detail is fantastic, and having the lyrics included is nice also. It also confirmed my fears that the solo for "Panic Attack" is just as complicated as I thought it would be, though the extremely low tuning is the largest hurdle. Great book.
