Preston Sturges (/ˈstɜːrdʒɪs/; born Edmund Preston Biden; August 29, 1898 – August 6, 1959) was an American playwright, screenwriter, and film director. In 1941, he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film The Great McGinty, his first of three nominations in the category. I bought this after seeing "Remember the Night" on TV as a holiday classic. This fine collection gives the student of classic Hollywood or the budding screenwriter a good example of how to do it right in a romantic comedy and drama setting. Well worth the money.

O loved the fact that this book is a reprint of real screenplays, with production-time pen and ink edits shown.
