Doors are an everyday part of life that we take for granted. But doors can also represent opportunity, pulling us forward with the riddle of what (or who) might await us on the other side. "When you follow your bliss. . . doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors and where there wouldn't be a door for anyone else".--Joseph Campbell. Here is a striking collection of doors to intrigue the imagination.

This door on the cover is by far the most interesting and vuvud one. No wonder it was so cheap. Had I seen this at the $.99 store, and could flip through it, I would not have bought it.

This is a colorful and artistic rendering of something we see every day and don't pay much attention to. I bought it for a friend who is moving into a new office as it symbolizes the new doors she will be walking through in her work and life. It is a lovely gift for someone in transition or just to enjoy for yourself.

I have a passion about doors, but this book is just very uninspired. The back leaf says "A stunning visual celebration." I'd rather look at doors on Goggle images any day than this lackluster collection.

I am creating a project on doors around the world and I believed that this would be the perfect book. The photographs are beautiful but there is no text. I wish that there could have been specific details as to where the doors were geographically and a little pertinent history relating to their design etc. Also there could have been a lot more diversity with regard to country, color, age etc. In spite of this the book is still a delight to browse through.

I've always been fascinated by doors; this book did a wonderful job of capturing the character of so many delightful doors.

This is such a beautiful book and as I am especially taken with Doors, I knew it was and is a must have. I highly recommend it for its sheer beauty.

A beautiful collection, but I wish there had been some descriptive inclusion telling a bit about each doorway. I guess the intention was to make the focus strictly on the doors themselves, and let the imagination run wild. This book was a gift (thanks, you!) and I keep rotating it among a few others on a downstairs coffee table, and since many who come to my house seem to pause and look through it, I guess I'm not the only person who appreciates a good dollop of door porn.
This is one of my favorite books to look through when I'm in a contemplative mood. No, it may not be an inspiration for those looking to redecorate. However, for those of us who are fascinated with the possibilities of the unknown, this book offers an amazing collection of photographs of interesting and unusual doors, leading one in a mental journey, weaving your own fantasy of what the doors teach us about those on the other side. I was intrigued by this book from my first viewing, and I continue to find new possibilities each time I revisit. It is a great book to stimulate the imagination.
