This is more a pamphlet than a book. It's not very good info either. I really hoped for a better guide.

This 60 page pamphlet consists primarily of maps with gem locations marked on them (an "x".to mark each locality and the gemstone types found at each locality noted in red text). The scale of the maps (about 2 states per map) makes it difficult to determine exact locations, but you do get a general idea of good areas to hunt for specific types of gemstones. It would have been nice if they had noted the scale of each map - instead mile estimates are noted along the Interstates. This booklet does provide some specific information for some localities, such as if there is a fee to dig or if there are existing mineral claims, but this information is not very useful anymore because the book was published over 25 years ago. The locations of rock shops are also shown, but many of these shops no longer exist. It was well worth the money back when it was published, but needs to be updated to make it worth purchasing today.
