I bought this book for a research project I was doing into bilingualism in Japan. I don't remember if it was overly useful for my paper, but it was fascinating to read and it made me want to reach out to the young Japanese subjects in the study. Anyone interested in raising children bilingually or who teaches Japanese students (in the West or after they have returned to Japan) should read this book.
