All characters are explored and deepened by Barbara Hambly. How on earth she came up with this plot, well, that's her genius. I love the way she weaves the emotions of the characters into their motivations for their actions, their words, their thoughts. Barbara Hambly also has a true gift of description and setting mood.

This book was so memorable that some 20 years later I was asking everyone I know the title of it so I could order it again and reread it. I remembered a little about the plot of the book, and Spock's mother's family.... so re-reading it was worth it...

Ever since I knew that two of my favorite TV shows were paired in a novel, I wanted to discover how Star Trek told about the future of Here Come The Brides. A curious mixture of character/actor "historical" connections, well-done HCTB character development, a nice cliff-hanger sub-plot and a final "gravestone" entry made this a welcome entry to the top ten STOS novels of all time. Thank you, Ms. Hambly!

Star Trek and Here Come the Brides? An unlikely combination until you think about 60's tv. This was a lot of fun!
