I watched the author talk about her book on TV and why she wrote it and decided to buy it. The book is written in short chapters dedicated to a theme and is meant to support the reader in their faith journey and provides pertinent examples. It can provide fresh hope for the discouraged and be a source for meditation for the contemplative reader. Because of the book's structure the reader can read a theme and put the book aside and it does not require a philosophy degree to wade through it. Encourages the christian with the difficulties faced during our journey of faith and how to surmount those difficulties.

Best book I've read in a few years (and I average 40-50 books a year). It helps you really see Christianity positively and as a relational - which is often lost today. Each chapter has an example then a Bible verse with reflection on that verse.

A very helpful and healing book for anyone who struggles to believe God loves you. The author uses real life examples to make you realize that you are not alone...then she offers scripture passages and reflections to help a prayerful healing process begin. Very beautifully done.

Many great nuggets. A person can keep going back to this book to read what struck you the most & to use it in prayer.

This book is a grace. Sr Marie Paul Curley has given us 52 meditations intended to fortify the spirit flagging under the weight of unhealthful misconceptions. It is all too easy, alas, to see the good Lord God as merciless: as a martinet, as a hypervigilant police officer, as waiting to catch us in our sins and imperfections. While Sister Marie Paul acknowledges the reality of sin, she reminds us of the cause of our hope: the limitless mercy of God, who came to heal the sick. Sister's meditations will, I venture to say, help restore resiliency to any soul hampered by a tendency toward psychological self-laceration and despair or doubt in God's mercy. Under Sister's gentle tutelage, the reader may learn a patience with himself or herself that is not self-indulgence, but rather a salutary and salvific trust in the One Who loves us better than we love ourselves. And of course, we are invited to pray, notably with the Psalms, whose candour and splendour are proffered as models and incentives to our own prayer. To say that Sister Marie Paul has given us a valuable book would be an understatement. She has given us a book to cherish, as it may prove instrumental in restoring hope to the hopeless.

I was reviewing various titles on a book table, trying to decide which book would make for good reading during Eucharistic Adoration. My eyes kept coming back to this one: See Yourself Through God's Eyes - 52 Meditations to Grow in Self Esteem.

I needed something that would focus my thoughts and speak to my heart during prayer time. Thumbing through the meditations in this book, I knew it was what I needed to read.

Each meditation begins with a real-life example of someone struggling with a particular difficulty. This is followed by a brief scripture passage which speaks to the woundedness just described. Next comes a reflection, fleshing out an application of the scripture passage to the difficulty. Finally, there is a short prayer to remind us throughout the day that God is with us in all our challenges.

This book has been a real blessing to me, especially during Adoration. The meditations and reflections are written with compassion and kindness - anyone would benefit from reading them. I'm happy to recommend it!

This is an amazingly spot-on book. It gives you confidence because you know the writer has suffered the pain that you suffer. Also that she then conquered it, and is giving you directions out of that gnarled forest full of self-accusation and lies. The book is not too dense, it's very easy to read and take it in bites. I lost mine in a move, and if I can't find it I'm buying another one! This is a must-read... if you are ready to reach out and take the gentle hand Sister Marie extends to lead you out into the peace God wants to rule in your mind and heart.
