Carus presents the Buddha's life in a collection of stories from his birth, attainment of enlightenment, teaching, to his death

Carus presents the Buddha's life in a collection of stories from his birth, attainment of enlightenment, teaching, to his death. Well written, it emulates the biblical style of the King Jame's Bible, occasionally puncuated with Ye, Thou, Thy, and so on. The stories are enjoyable but short and somewhat numerous. Also included is a glossary of terms and a concordance with passages in the New Testament. To read this book, upload an EPUB or FB2 file to Bookmate.

This book gives an account of the life of the Buddha. "The aim of this book" said the author, "is to set forth as simply as possible the Gospel of Buddhism according to the Buddhist Scriptures, and to consider the Buddist systems in relation to the Brahmanical systems in which they originate, and to those systems of Christian mysticism."
