Sleeping With Ghosts! A Ghost Hunter's Guide to Arizona's Haunted Hotels & Inns by Debe Branning contains short chapters, each with an overview and an explanation as to why that location might be considered haunted. Kind of like a mini-travel guide for this genre. I believe Branning meant this book to be an overview, a guide, just as her subtitle states, and never planned to go into great detail about each hotel. So if you're looking for long chapters and in-depth information on haunted AZ hotels, this might not be the book for you. One could probably write an entire book on each location in order to offer that type of information.

There are almost 30 hotels mentioned in just 150 pages, along with ghost hunter tools and vocabulary lists at the end of the book. Branning also lists websites and contact information at the end of each chapter so those interested in a particular place can follow up on their own. Overall, Sleeping With Ghosts! is a nice guidebook to help ghost hunters decide whether they might like to visit and/or investigate the various hotels and inns. This book could also be useful for someone in the general public who's interested in staying at haunted hotels.

Very well done! I have just finished this book in connection with a book that I am currently working on about haunted hotels. I will definitely be using Ms. Branning as a source! I particularly found her sections about Jerome and Bisbee to be extremely helpful.

Sleeping With Ghosts! by Debe Branning was given to me before a trip to AZ last year, and I decided to write a quick review before taking it to my local shelter. SWG is an easy read with succinct chapters that could have used a little more info for those actually traveling to these haunts.
It is a fast and fun read for anyone who enjoys ghost stories, but for those traveling to Arizona and interested in locating these places, I think adding more background into for each haunting would have been a huge benefit!
This is very light reading. It's the sort of book you take with you on a trip or vacation when you don't have a lot of time for heavy reading. The chapters are short but sweet. There were a few that I wished for more information regarding history and cause of death, etc. The ghost stories themselves are subjective, so there's really no need for changes there, and after all, that's really what the book is about.

If you enjoy a good ghost story, you'll enjoy this book...especially if you're planning a trip somewhere in Arizona.
