Description

out-of-body experiences. Once again fear acts like a roadblock to higher learning. I think that for Albert Taylor, writing this book was more of a stepping stone for his own journey and not so much for the reader.

out-of-body experiences. pg 70 People can only accept things that they are prepared to accept. Even with the best intentions, you cannot put your life experiences and knowings into someone else's mind and heart if they do not allow it. "I'd like to provide some reassurance for those who are fearful and a partial road map for the more adventurous.

From the deathlike night paralysis and lucid dreams of his childhood - dubbed "witch rides" by his grandmother - to his later quest to explain these extraordinary episodes, Taylor learned to identify the early signs of his facility for out-of-body experiences, also known as astral projection.

From an early age, Albert Taylor experienced bouts of almost death-like paralysis which were accompanied by extraordinarily lucid and realistic dreams. His grandmother called them "Witch Rides. As he grew older and learned more about his gift, these Witch Rides progressed in strength and scope to eventually become full-fledged out-of-body experiences. Gradually, Albert found himself able to "fly" with his mind to distant places, breaking the boundaries of this world, and encountering spirits beyond

An adventure on a grand scale that will hold the attention of believers and sceptics alike.

Soul Traveler: A Guide to Out-of-Body Experiences and the Wonders Beyond. Despite Taylor's background as a NASA engineer, Soul Traveler is far from a technical manual. From Publishers Weekly: It's hard to simply dismiss an aeronautical engineer who spent two decades with the NASA space program when he writes of his extensive paranormal experiences

Former NASA aeronautical engineer and space researcher Albert Taylor believes that there is much we can learn from out-of-body experiences. In this amazing book, he offers an account of his own incredible flights of "soul travel"--and shows us how we too can develop this life-changing ability.

Not to take away from Dr. Taylor's writing skills, however his basic structure of the story is quite childish. I actually expected more from a man who once worked with NASA as an engineer. Yet, this has opened my interest to research into the phenomenon of OBE.

I listen to Art Bell on the radio, " Somewhere Back In Time" that airs on Saturday nights. The author of this book was on the show. It was very interesting to say the least. They were not promoting the book at all, he was just one of the guest that was talking about OBE. I took the initiative and went looking for the author's name and his book. This is why I purchased it. The book was in very good used condition. It took a bit long to receive it. I don't know what was up with that part. But when it arrived, it was well packed.

This is really a goto source for anyone interested in these matters. I have heard this author over the radio being interviewed and that compelled me to get this book. I do have to say that it is not as in depth as I would have liked as compared to the interview he had on the radio. There are some things missing from this book that was mentioned on radio. One of the stories missing involved his experience with a close friend while he was "out of body", he had visited his friend at her house, he saw her sleeping next to her husband and had noticed something weird regarding this event. He had explained what happened to this friend and she had confirmed the story. Of course, this story was more interesting and detailed on the radio than how I have typed it.

Even though I feel there are things missing from this book, I would call this the beginner's goto must read source. Had shown this to my skeptical father who is highly opinionated about everything. He had read this book faster than anything I have seen him read (he reads a lot). Also must mention that before I had bought this book, I have also had two experiences with different stages of "out of body" (these are extremely distinct experiences) and I do have to say that this book satisfactorily describes both my experiences well.
Highly recommended.

Soul Traveler; A Guide to Out of Body Experiences and the Wonders Beyond is a great read. I have the 1996 version, which is a bit shorter than the 2000 version. This was a really enjoyable read. Albert is very down to earth and matter of fact about his experiences. It's a very easy read, and Albert writes in a very personal way. It goes through his discovery of the out of body state, and his experiences in it. He has much of it written like journal entries that he copied over and he reflects on the meaning of each experience. He also talks of not knowing where to turn when all of this started spontaneously happening to him. A quick read, but well worth it. At the end he gives some tips on having your own out of body experiences. Definitely worth picking up if you are curious about OBE's.

Really opening my eyes up to so much about the astral world and how to access it. My dreams have also been a bit more controlled and lucid. However , I must get into the habit of keeping a journal because the memory of the dream really does fade the longer into the day you wait to write down what happened. This book has me excited.

Well....this book is literally the Bible of astral projection! Albert Taylor is probably one the nicest, and most enlightened people you will ever meet. And if you think people into new age kinda things are weird or questionable.....this is the read for you, because Albert holds a PHD and worked for the government on projects like the stealth bomber. He has really revolutionized astral travel giving the reader many helpful short cuts to get you out of your body that first time.

This is the best single volume introduction to out-of-body experiences that I've found. While I consider Robert Monroe's classic three volume collection to be the best (Mr. Taylor also sites them and lists all three in his bibliography) I do believe that this is the book that I would recommend to a beginner in the field. It is extremely well-organized and the language is clear and straight-forward (as one would expect from a NASA engineer.) Having worked most of my life in engineering departments I can appreciate the courage that it took to publish this book on the part of the author.
I especially recommend chapter 9 (The Ultimate Truth.) This gives a very plausible metaphysical explanation of the meaning and purpose of these experiences. This raises the book above a mere "how to" manual.
Albert Taylor's book is not only fascinating and enjoyable, but extremely easy to understand. Written in a journal-type format with the bulk of the book containing details of his experiences on the astral, this book reads almost like a novel. In fact you can probably read it in one sitting if you chose to. On the plus side he keeps the tone of the book very simple and straightforward. For those who enjoy the simplicity, this book is a good place to start your journey.
For those however who enjoy something more scientific and written in greater detail, which is the minus side of this book - no detail - then I would recommend William Buhlman's book 'Adventure's Beyond the Body,' which I honestly believe to be a much better book. But for the easily befuddled, this book is a blessing.
