The New Testament continually uses the book of Psalms to fix our gaze upon the excellencies of Christ, upon his majesty, beauty, and glory. The apostles, to be sure, drew heavily from the Psalms for their inspired testimony regarding the person and work of Christ. When Jesus expressed his anguish on the cross with the words of Psalm 22, he highlighted one of the precious facets of the Psalms in general, namely, that as songs they uniquely convey the inward depths of the soul, and especially of Christ’s soul.

Mark portrays Jesus as a powerful yet unrecognized and suffering Messiah. Stories throughout the gospel show Jesus to have control over storms, water and demons. He is able to heal lepers, cripples and people with withered limps. Matthew shows Jesus to pity the under privileged in his interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus gives us the Beatitudes. He also shows Jesus scolding much of the upper class, especially the Pharisees whom Jesus is shown to argue with numerous times throughout this gospel. Luke's special emphasis is the humanity of Jesus. Representing Jesus as the Son of God. Luke features His kindness toward.

Jesus' interactions with women are an important element in the theological debate about Christianity and women. Women are prominent in the story of Christ Jesus. He was born of a woman, had numerous interactions with women, and was seen first by women after his resurrection. He commissioned the women to go and tell his disciples that he is risen, which is the essential message of Christianity.

This view of Jesus, given prominence in The Five Gospels, is ultimately based on a saying of Jesus that the scholars color gray: Just remember, John appeared on the scene neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He is demented. The son of Adam came both eating and drinking, and they say, 'There's a glutton and a drunk, a crony of toll collectors and sinners!' (Matt 11:18-19 // Luke 7:33-34, "Q"). Here we encounter an astonishing misunderstanding of the facts.

Volume 1 covers Psalms 4-13, 44-50. Volume 2 covers Psalms 109-150. Lively, and highly devotional, this book sheds a world of insight upon the beloved Scriptures, the world of the Early Church, and of the Apostles themselves, who constantly used and referred to the Psalms in their own writings.

It is a psalm calculated for a day of fasting and humiliation upon occasion of some public calamity, either pressing or threatening. Some observe that most of the psalms that are entitled Maschil-psalms of instruction, are sorrowful psalms; for afflictions give instructions, and sorrow of spirit opens the ear to them. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest and teachest. Through thy name (by virtue of thy wisdom directing us, thy power strengthening us and working for us, and thy promise securing success to us) we shall, we will, tread those under that rise up against u.
