The Blackbird sisters are back—and as witty and wonderful as ever! For richer, for poorer...

Nora Blackbird, the Bucks County ex-debutante with a haute couture wardrobe, a hot job as a glamorous society columnist and a stone cold bank account, might finally have her own life just right, but everyone around her is going down in flames. Her sister Libby seems destined to be the lead character in a tabloid sex scandal.  Her sister Emma is expecting a mysterious love child.  Her best friend, Lexie Paine, is serving time in the slammer.  And now her mobbed-up boyfriend, Mick Abruzzo—who might actually be her husband—is conducting clandestine capers from Blackbird Farm while under house arrest. What’s a good girl to do?

Find a killer, that’s what!  Word arrives that the sisters’ great aunt, Madeleine Blackbird, has died in a volcanic eruption on an Indonesian island and left her fabulous country estate, worth millions, to the three of them.  But when the Blackbird sisters show up to claim their windfall, they find the house in a state of disheartening decay and all of Madeleine’s to-die-for treasures gone. Worse, the mansion has been hiding a grisly secret: the body of a woman who died there many years ago.  All the evidence points to a high society murder...

Nora’s special bond with flamboyant Aunt Madeleine compels her to seek out the truth.  With her aunt’s amorous stepson dogging her footsteps, her unscrupulous lawyer acting like a skunk, and her devoted housekeeper not to be found, Nora’s investigation is going nowhere.  Good thing Mick’s close by to offer Nora distractions both dark and delightful.  And, as ever, her irrepressible sisters provide some unexpected... and highly unorthodox... assistance when she most needs it.

It's been four long years, but the Blackbird Sisters are back and I love it. Nora, Libby and Emma just inherited their aunt's property only to discover that someone has absconded with all the valuable property and left the house in ruins. It soon appears that something nefarious has happened within the walls of Quintain and the sisters with Nora leading the way are determined to unearth the truth.

This was a fun read that I enjoyed immensely in this cleverly written mystery. The Blackbird sisters are as madcap as ever and at their best in this easy-flowing and charming whodunit and along the way, we meet an aging gigolo cousin, a crooked lawyer and Ralphie who is so adorable. Mick is home and lends a helping hand in this delightfully entertaining adventure. This is the best book yet in this fabulous series and I can't wait for more good times with the Blackbird sisters.
Nothing personal Nothing personal
Quirky characters often mean one-dimensional characters...not so with Nancy Martin and her Blackbird sisters. I found myself laughing out loud as I pictured a few of the unique folks who make their appearance in No Way to Kill a Lady: A Blackbird Sisters Mystery. But I also found myself connecting with others in the midst of their own personal brand of "suffering". My favorite kind of mystery- one that makes me laugh and also tear up...but keeps me guessing along the way.

This is yet another fun addition to the Blackbird Sisters Mystery series. It has an enjoyable story-line that will leave you wanting more.

Nancy Martin is a very good writer. Her books are interesting, fun, and always satisfying to the last word! I'd rate this book a must read and recommend all of her former books and her future ones to anyone who loves to read. The Blackbird Sisters are a hoot; eccentric and unpredictable; popping in and out of each one's personal alternate universe with side trips to Earth! The Goodwill store that sent this book kept it in beautiful condition and were very prompt in their delivery. The whole experience was great, starting with the Vendor, Buying, Receiving and Reading. Hope the next Nancy Martin comes out soon!

I Love Nora and Mick, as well as the rest of the Blackbirds.I spent a little over six weeks reading the entire series. I hope the next book does not take four years to write, otherwise I'll be writing side notes and offering ideas to anyone who will be willing to listen. As usual Nora is up to her neck in crime, grime, and love. She is a girl after my own heart and sometimes I swear she might really be me. [We won't discuss that ever.]
Not even in group therapy :)
I don't know how long I'll last with out a Blackbird Farms visit! Hurry up and get writing Nancy!

If there were more than 5 stars this book would earn them!!! It was crazy fun. The readers get to meet another member of the Blackbird family....well sort of. Who doesn't love a bad guy going good? I have to say, this book made me LOL a few times. I think Ralphie was the funniest though...who's Ralphie you ask....Guess you'll have to read the book to find out. There were times when my heart broke for Mick, but he's tough. It's a great book and I can't wait for another one to come out!!!!!

I don't know if I can stand to wait till the next one comes out, I loved this one, I'm happy Michael and Nora are back together but I wish the author could give her SOME happiness when it comes to baby, lexi, emma and her money woes. I really really hope emma doesn't give up her baby to that louse, Hart and I hope things work out with their money issues and I wish Nora would just come to grips with who Michael is and quit trying to change him. Awesome book, can't wait for the next.

Howzabout 3 cheers for another terrific story by Nancy Martin.
You know a story is ready good when one or more characters aggravate you enough that you wished they were real so you could give them apiece if your mind along with a swift kick in their rump!
The same is true when one or more scenes in the story cuts hi to break out in sudden gut splitting laughter..
I have read the entire Blackbird sisters series and it's bittersweet that there isn't another one to read. The mystery was as fresh and fast paced as the 1st. The characters remain as well developed and consistent as ever. The story captured the full essence of Philadelphia society. I always enjoy reading about the local places and landmarks since I live in the area.
