As Easy as Murder book

As Easy as Murder book. Scotsman Jardine has produced a middling murder mystery (no nasties here to match a Stuart McBride) but along with other readers I found the golf overly long and the real excitement relegated to the last thirty pages. Feb 13, 2014 Sue rated it liked it. Shelves: y. Primavera Blackstone tries to protect her friend Shirley from her new boyfriend Patterson, whom Primavra instinctively doubts. At the same time, her nephew Jonny is making his pro golf debut. If Jonny wins, Primavera's and Tom's existence as respectively, the late great Oz Blacksone's former wife and son, may be undermined by publicity. Primavera is trying simultaneously to find the truth about Patterson, keep her friend Shirley from a broken heart, and protect her family's privacy. The two stories become linked together, in an increasingly violent form, and Primavera solves them in her usual aggresive and exciting way. There is a well-designed sense of not knowing where and why the menace is coming. The final thrills and clarification are satisfying and well-handled.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a great plot and was hard to put down.

Since killing off Oz Blackstone, Quentin Jardine writes in the female voice as Primavera Blackstone. I found it offensive that the author thinks it is OK for a female character, in this case Primavera to refer to herself as 'a slut' because she had not cleaned the house! Thus only 4 stars for the rating
