Murder at Wrightsville Beach book. Book Four in the Magnolia Mysteries series. Murder at Wrightsville beach. Wonderful, well written cozy mystery by Ellen Elizabeth Hunter

Murder at Wrightsville Beach book. I usually begin with Book One so I was not sure how I would feel about delving into an established series. However, I do not feel I have missed anything as the characters are well constructed and interesting (although I may go back and read the first three).

Ellen elizabeth hunter. Books by Ellen Elizabeth Hunter. At Wrightsville Beach, all the houses have names. Published by: Magnolia Mysteries. All rights reserved, including the right of reproduction. Murder on the Ghost Walk. Murder on the Candlelight Tour. Murder at the Azalea Festival. Bella Aqua was three stories tall if you counted the enclosure under the house. The ground level housed a garage and storage rooms, an area that could withstand flooding without experiencing too much damage if sea water flowed through the pilings when there was storm surge as frequently happened during hurricane season.

With temperatures in the nineties, Ashley Wilkes, historic preservationist, heads for Wrightsville Beach where sister Melanie has rented an oceanfront sleeps-14. Book in the Magnolia Mysteries Series). by Ellen Elizabeth Hunter.

Murder At Wrightsville Beach. She writes the Magnolia Mysteries series (which is also called the Wilmington, N. C. Mystery series). Hardcover Paperback Kindle. Author Ellen Elizabeth Hunter has a combined degree in English Literature that she got from New York University. Hunter writes traditional mysteries that are set in Wilmington, North Carolina. Besides this series, she has also released some stand alone work.

Hunter, Ellen Elizabeth. Scarlett and Ray arrived from New York on Sunday evening. Ray’s sister Kiki, who was my former Big Apple roommate, flew with them. Jon and I, Melanie and Cam, Aunt Ruby and Binkie - we all drove out. to the airport in the rain to meet them. The first person we spotted coming through the gangway was Scarlett, her bright auburn hair shining under the overhead lights. Scarlett looks just like Melanie and Mama. Radiant ivory complexion, green eyes, that glossy auburn hair.

There’s something satisfying about the best murder mystery books. The crime of murder is inherently terrifying, which makes these stories part horror fiction and part puzzle. You can feel the danger of murder looming in the background while also having the satisfaction of solving the crime in the foreground of the story. The reader knows that in the end, whether or not he or she is caught, the murderer will at least be identified

It summertime in NC. The temperature is in the nineties.
Ashley Wilkes, historic preservationist, is headed to
Wrightsville Beach for vacation. Her sister, Melanie has
rented a cottage on the ocean that can sleep 14 people.
Melanie is expecting her “current” man friend and his
brother from Atlantic City, NJ to stay there plus a old
school friend who is now a model. Their rescue cat is
staying with them.
Visiting an art gallery the sisters know, they discover the
owner dead. The owner was shot and robbed of paintings
set up for a new exhibit.
Murder, robbery, attempt robbery, mayhem, arson, shady
and quirky characters keep the story moving along at a
good pace.
The story contains interesting historic facts about the
Wilmington area.
Good beach read!!!

This is an entertaining book, perfect for summer. Good descriptions of the area, the island, and especially the summer heat reflect the author's knowledge of Wrightsville Beach. The story is a little confusing, only because of the friend's family members. I lost track a few times and by the end, didn't remember who Babe and Ted were, lol. Although it kept my interest and had a good ending, this story needs some editing. Incomplete sentences, calling one of the main characters by the wrong name-these things need some attention. But, if you can overlook those flaws, sit back in your beach chair and enjoy.

This novel is a cross between chick-lit and a soft mystery. I wanted to read it because of the setting at Wrightsville Beach, which is a couple of hours away from where I live. I thought the author's writing was good, but the plot didn't move with suspense. The characters were a little flat, and even in there wasn't a feeling of tension when the main characters were in lethal danger. Except for the characters who were found dead, the plot seems very safe.

Ellen Elizabeth Hunter has become one of my No. 1 authors! I actually found this series accidentally while looking for books by Elizabeth Hunter (2 different authors). I am so glad I stumbled onto these books. The main characters are sisters, Ashley and Melanie Wilkes, living in Wilmington, NC. Melanie, the older sibling is the Best Realtor and Ashley restores the old mansions in the Historic District while they solve mysteries and murders. Recommended reading for anyone who enjoys a good mystery with wonderfully developed characters who you end up caring about long after you've finished the book-lol.

Wonderful, well written cozy mystery by Ellen Elizabeth Hunter.

The story got better and better as it went along. The author but a lot of twists and turns into the mystery. The murderer was not even on my radar as the killer.

Enjoyable and fun read.

This is a pretty good book with interesting characters and a good plot. The historic preservationist for the main character gives it a little bit different perspective, which is nice. It needed quite a lot of proof reading, as there are many places where a word is missing, and several where the wrong version of a word is used. (I don't know how many books I've read lately that have used "pouring" when they actually mean "poring", for example.) otherwise, I enjoyed it a lot.

Ms. Hunters' books all center around one area of the North Carolina coast that she is obviously very familiar with and so her descriptions of the town, the coast, and the people of the area are excellent. This story is a little convoluted involving elements, primarily people, that are somewhat outside of her experience, resulting in some interesting, if not always believable, connections. Overall a fun and light read perfect for the end of a long hard day.
I was in the hospital and downloaded four of the Ashley Wilkes mysteries onto my Kindle. They kept me sane.

Would recommend for those who like mysteries and old house renovations.Plots are fairly simple.

The protagonist kept getting into trouble, finding dead bodies, so many dead bodies, one wonders how she coped. Lots of social activities and descriptons of the North Carolina coast.
