The book was purchased as a gift. There are 13 books in the inspector Morse Series written between 1975 and 1999. The Omnibus Series does not follow the chronological sequence either in the 1st through 4th Omnibus or within the volume. So if you want to read them in order, you will need to order the 3rd Omnibus first, the 2nd Omnibus second, the 1st Omnibus third and then the 4th Omnibus forth, and the 13th book is in a volume by itself. I have read his short story volume and really enjoyed it.

While I was thrilled to find this collection of Dexter's stories, I was disappointed by the smell of smoke that has permeated the pages.
