Hell's Heroes is the tenth and final book in Darren Shan's The Demonata series. This was the second time this has happened with any of the Darren Shan books, possibly initiated by the recent popularity increase in the author's works. It is published in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Hell's Heroes (6 Months after Dark Calling). The story of Lord Loss and the Demonata came to Darren while he was working on The Saga. Lord Loss was originally a poem written by Darren Shan, found at the beginning of Lord Loss. He wrote the book and left it alone until the Saga was finished. At first he had no idea it would be a series but then he wrote Bec and Blood Beast and Demon Apocalypse. He felt that he needed another book to describe how Grubbs's magical power developed. He said we'll know why when we've read it.

Dark Calling (The Demonata, Book 9). Darren Shan. Werewolves don’t need names, but after a few weeks with the trio, I felt like I should call them something. Bec (The Demonata, Book 4). The Vampire’s Assistant (The Saga of Darren Shan, Book 2). Blood Beast (The Demonata, Book 5). So I christened them Curly, Larry and Moe, after the Three Stooges. I never had much time for the Stooges, but Dervish loved them, so I named the werewolves in his memory.
