The Problem with Paradise book. Nobody gets why Casey's upset  . As Lesley Dahl’s first and only novel, she did a wonderful job showing her realistic and intriguing side as an author. She presents an eighth grade girl who goes on vacation to paradise at her father's house, falls in love there, and does not want to return home in the end. The plot is relatively simple for a novel. I first knew this was the book that I wanted to read after skimming the back. But to be honest, I pulled i The Problem With Paradise is a miniature vacation packed away into a novel.

The Problem with Paradise - Lesley Dahl.

Nobody gets why Casey's upset. She's just been informed that she's spending the ENTIRE summer on some deserted tropical island with her father, his new wife, and her two brothers. Her father will study the endangered sea turtle, her brothers will drive her crazy, and Casey's sure she will die of boredom while dreaming of all the fun she could have been having with her friends back home. But Tartuga turns out to have its charms-particularly a cute boy Casey's age named Jonah. The Problem with Paradise - Lesley Dahl.

Tim Sampson, Lesley Dahl, Joanne Morcom, DeVar Dahl, Jean Jorgensen, Patricia Benedict. The only problem I had with it was it was pretty blah about 3/4 of the book, then it finally picked up. Perfect book to go away with. com User, May 2, 2007. I had the luxury of reading this book while vacationing in paradise but, even if you are not on vacation Lesleys book will take you there. Her writing is descriptive and heartfelt. I thought I would have to quit reading it until the real climax of the story took over. Would recommend this book to any teenager looking for a light, easy read!

Book title question!!!!! URGENT? The book has sunglasses on it, and it's about a girl that ends up loving her . It was pretty good, I thought. Predictable, but good.

Book title question!!!!! URGENT? The book has sunglasses on it, and it's about a girl that ends up loving her summer vacation on her dad's island. The title is something like, 'My Island Paradise' or 'The Perfect Paradise'. But it does have the word paradise in the title . I loved this book and it was by far one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the way the author writes.

I borrowed this book from my local library because the sea turtle rescue and tropical island storyline caught my 11 yr old’s eye. I did a quick search on Amazon to find out what this book was about and saw that it is recommended for ages 8 and up. ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! How is sexual explicit content appropriate for an 8 yr old??? I’m disgusted that I let my 11 yr old read this trash. This book may be a fun read for a 16 yr old. However, reading about intensely kissing a boy while he is laying on you, his legs are strapped onto yours and he slips his hand under your T-shirt is definitely not ok for an 11 yr old to be reading! Parents beware! This is for a much older crowd than “8 and up”.

Grab it for your vacation! But it's even better if you aren't going anywhere. Reading this book felt like taking a trip. Set off the island of Tartuga in the Caribbean, you really feel like you are there. Sailing, snorkling, sitting on the beach, this story really brings you into Casey's life. She's been sent to a deserted tropical island with her brothers to visit her father who is in charge of a turtle sanctuary. Away from cell phones and email and television, she thinks she will be bored, but ends up far from it. There is romance, adventure, poaching, and then a tropical storm comes in to stir things up even more.

Highly recommended.

I had the luxury of reading this book while vacationing in paradise but, even if you are not on vacation Lesleys book will take you there. Her writing is descriptive and heartfelt. Not to spoil it for those that have not yet read the book, I will only say that young and old you will "feel" as you are reading the experiences, like the frustration of being sent away from your friends, or a pesky little brother that just won't leave you alone, but best of all the warm sun tanning your body, the feeling of swimming in the amazing blue, blue water and of course the yummy romance! Thank you Lesley for the adventure and fun. One would like to know how Casey and Matt are getting along now :-)

This is a really fun book. It's the perfect combination of humor, excitement and a little romance. It didn't take me long to read it. In fact, I wish it had been longer. It's very good to read on an airplane or on vacation, unless you have a pesky brother or sister, like Casey. It turns out that the author, Lesley Dahl, has pictures an island where she has dived up on her website. Maybe she'll write another book about Casey. I hope so.

I read this book during finals week when I should have been studying, but I couldn't put it down. This book is a perfect combination of humor and drama. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Good book- it had the perfect combination of sarcastic humor, drama, and romance in it.

The only problem I had with it was it was pretty *blah* about 3/4 of the book, then it finally picked up. I thought I would have to quit reading it until the real climax of the story took over.

Would recommend this book to any teenager looking for a light, easy read!
