This is the first time I purchased a travel guide e-book, and it was an interesting experience. In the end, I'm thinking that maybe it might have been better to have a paper copy that would be easier to thumb through. In any event, this is a very thorough and comprehensive guide to each of the Canary Islands, and we found it invaluable as we drove around Tenerife. Like other Lonely Planet guides, I found this one to be accurate and dependable.

Not quite as good as the previous edition, but still a good Lonely Planet Guide. I see its going to be updated soon by previous authors. I'm glad I read the library's older version before buying this one to take with me to the Canaries as there was a somewhat different focus.

I trust Lonely Planet, and I have used this book for several visits to the Canary Islands. The information was very helpful, but I found it poorly organized and difficult to jump from section to section in the Kindle edition.

Good for trip planning, and the only guide we'll take on the cruise. Well laid out, helpful in selecting land tours or destinations. Enough history to provide context, but apparantly current. A good travel guide.

This is not well organized if you are planning a trip. It would be helpful if it started out with basic information like how many islands there are with a basic description of each one. How to travel between the islands--are there ferries? Instead you have topics like hiking, and where to hike, but without a good lay of the land you have to try to figure out what island they are talking about. How are you going to get there? What else is on that island? You can look up your next topic, say diving, and then try to figure out if you have an island where you can dive and hike. Then you have the month by month chapter that gives little useful information and still does not help you decide how to plan a trip. Anyway, Amazon is great about returns so feel free to try it on your Kindle and if you don't find it useful return it.

Badly organised, very few text, most of it represents endless lists of sights, museums etc. It is an electronic version but the information is not linked. Example: you read an article on a restaurant and you want to locate it on the map, there is no direct link to the map, so you should go back to the table of contents....

Being a Lonely Planet fan, am never disappointed by the layout and detailed information that their guides offer. This one is no exception!
Basic guide. Lots more detail on the Internet.
